My son’s always asking me to pick favorites.
Favorite colors, favorite dinosaurs. Favorite people, favorite pets.
The problem is, I don’t do favorites. I can’t pick just one thing.
Except with authors. My favorite author is Guy Gavriel Kay. I love each of his books, and always will. His work’s often described as “history with a quarter-turn to the fantastic.” I recommend him to everyone. Anyone.
Here are two facts:
1. People are innately curious
2. But we’re also cautious about change and newness
Here’s one more fact:
We’re always capable of more than we believe.
I believed for ten years I’d find fulfillment in my career if I could just move up. I wanted Big Change to solve my problems.
But the fantastic started happening when I made *little* changes.
All it takes is time and little changes—and you have a whole new story.
